1. Logitech Harmony 700 Design

Let’s start with the design first. Design-wise, the Logitech Harmony 700 is ergonomic. With dimensions of 8.8 x 2.3 x 1.3 inches (HWD) and a weight of 6.4 ounces, the Harmony 700 is comfortable to hold.

It comes with a charcoal-gray matte finish, which looks nice.

The Harmony 700 has a 1-inch LCD screen at the top. Above the screen, there are buttons for watching TV, listening to music, and movies. The channel and volume control buttons are in the middle, under them are the playback buttons, and at the lowermost are the numerical pads.

2. Logitech Harmony 700 Features

If you are looking for a universal remote with a touchscreen display, then the Harmony 700 is not the one you want. It doesn’t have that feature. However, if you are okay without a touchscreen display, the Harmony 700 is definitely a good bargain.

The Harmony 700 offers a lot for its price.

It has impressive support, too. It is compatible with 225,000 devices spread across over 5,000 different brands. And all you need to do to set up is to connect the Logitech Harmony 700 software to Logitech’s online database.

Then, follow the on-screen instructions, and the remote is ready to use.

One of the best things about the Harmony 700 is its learning mode. The mode allows it to identify and replicate any infrared remote’s signal. Even more impressive is that it can do so on remotes that are not in the online database.

It has backlit keys with a tilt sensor, a welcome feature that makes controlling devices easier in dim lighting.

The Logitech Harmony 700 doesn’t have RF control. That means for the Harmony 700 to work, the devices you want to control must be in its line of sight. You can’t control devices that are in the cabinet or behind a wall.

This could be an issue if your devices are not within the same room. If, however, all your devices are in one room, then the lack of RF control isn’t an issue.

It doesn’t have a charging dock, either. Instead, it uses rechargeable AA batteries that are easy to replace.

3. Logitech Harmony 700 Performance

The performance of the Harmony 700 is solid. It lacks the touchscreen display and RF control that the Harmony One offers, but in terms of performance, the two are close.

What makes the Harmony 700 worthy of considering is that it is user-friendly. We all know how headache-inducing setting up a universal remote can be. With the Logitech Harmony 700 software, however, it is a lot easier.

Simply connect the Harmony 700 to a PC or a Mac, install the software, and program it. Just follow the on-screen instructions, and the universal remote will be ready to use in a few minutes.

It can control up to six devices. Whether or not it is good depends on your needs. But to put things in perspective, the average number of devices at homes is five. So, it is quite plenty.
