1. Logitech G300S Design
Let’s start with the design first. Design-wise, the Logitech G300s doesn’t look or feel like a cheap gaming mouse. If anything, it looks and feels good.
It has a symmetrical design. The top and the buttons combine glossy black and matte plastic, the sides are made from soft rubber while the bottom is blue plastic.
The curved sides ensure that your thumb has a place to rest, regardless of whether you are a right-handed or left-handed person. The rubber on the sides adds comfort while at the same time providing extra grip.
These design elements make the mouse comfortable to hold, especially when you do a claw grip.
While the mouse itself doesn’t look or feel like a cheap gaming mouse, its cable does. The cable is quite long as well (it is 2 meters long), which can be annoying to deal with.
Other downsides are that the scroll wheel is not very smooth. Also, after prolonged use, you may feel sweaty.

The G300s has a symmetrical design. Meaning, both sides are identical. This makes it comfortable to use regardless of whether you are a right-handed or left-handed person.
9 programmable controls
On the mouse, there are 9 programmable controls. While the mouse is plug and play, you can only configure the controls using the Logitech G300s software.
The G300s has onboard storage in which you can save your configurations (up to three different configurations). Since the memory is onboard, you can use the mouse using your configuration even if you switch PC or Mac. Also, you can switch between configurations with a click of a button.
The Logitech G300s has RGB lighting as well, which can be configured using the Logitech G300s software.
Gaming-grade optical sensor
While the G300s is in the low-end range, it comes equipped with a gaming-grade optical sensor. This makes the mouse good for gaming and great for productivity.

3. Logitech G300S Performance
What about the performance? When it comes to performance, the Logitech G300s is quite good. It is more than enough for productivity and is decent enough for gaming. Especially considering how customizable the mouse is.
The G300s is plug-and-play. This means all you need to do to use it is to connect it to a computer. The driver will install automatically.
For customizations, however, you will need to install the Logitech software. Only by using the software can you configure the mouse to your liking. Don’t worry. Configuring the mouse is easy. You just need to drag and drop commands to the buttons.
Once you have set configurations, you can switch between set configurations by clicking the buttons behind the scroll wheel. And yes, you can switch between them on the fly. Thanks to the onboard storage, you can do this even if you switch computers.
The mouse utilizes a red optical sensor which has a 1-millisecond report rate and a max DPI of 2,500. This is more than enough for everyday tasks and good enough for gaming. The G300s also does well on various surfaces, including wood and fabrics. We recommend using only a mouse mat.
